JAGANNATHI TEMPLE-PUID
Puid,in the valley of Kharahal, heart of Kharahal valley,which isSituated on bijali Mahadev road. Bijali Mahadev Temple,Bhagban Shiv Temple,is just 15km away from this place. Here is the temple of mata Jagarnathi. Its is very beautiful and is in one of the oldest temple in Dev Bhoomi Kullu. It is 10 km. from Kullu by bus and 4 km. on foot. The road leading to Bijli Mahadev passes through it. Here is a temple of ‘Jagannathi’ the sister of Bhaikhali mata. She was also dancing with her sister at the tune of the flute. When her sister was caught, she escaped and jumped to this place and stayed here. The people affords breath taking view all around. It is a good picnic spot also. A fair is held here one day after ‘Baisakh Ashtami’. The height of this place is about 1830 metres.
There is another version regarding Puid becoming the seat of worship of the goddess Jagannathi. She appeared in the dream of a man belongs to our family and ordered him to bring one of the idols from Bhaikhali temple and make the present place of her worship also. Our family man followed the order word by word. Since then Puid has become her seat of worship. It is the one of best places to be visited in Kullu-Manali.
